According to the spokesman, the victim died in the ambulance of the Saudi Red Crescent before reaching the hospital. He added that the estranged stepfather had divorced his mother.

The murderer, he said, was caught and detained at the police station and handed over to the Prosecution and Investigation Commission for further questioning.

Al-Zinaidi said police in Al-Nuzha district received information about a gunfire emanating from a house in Al-Badiya district and immediately rushed to the scene.

He said the killer, in his 40s, fired his pistol and shot the young man in the head. He also pushed his ex-wife, causing her some injuries for which she was treated.

The spokesman said the preliminary investigations showed family differences were behind the murder.
