The tour also aims to examine the joint efforts of municipalities and tourism bodies to develop cultural, environmental and agricultural tourism.

The delegation — consisting of Saudi provincial governors, secretaries-general and municipality directors — will study advantages of tourism development, the value of preserving environmental resources and rehabilitating urban heritage.

The delegation will also learn how job opportunities can be created as a result of good maintenance of heritage locations. It will also review realistic role models that help the country tackle tourism-related issues and rehabilitate and develop tourism products and means for economic growth.

The trip is within the framework of the SCTA to activate partnership with the municipality and governors. It is part of the agreement signed with the Ministry of Interior to participate in the development of the tourism sector and support the ministry’s efforts to train and rehabilitate human resources in the relevant areas.

The trip is the sixth in a program organized by the SCTA to review the experiences of other nations in this field.
