It said the father of the girls came to the society complaining that his eldest daughter, who is in her third intermediate year, was thrashed by some of her classmates on Wednesday.

The society said the girl was taken to hospital, which gave her five days rest after treating the bruises she had received.

An informed source at the society said the father complained to the police against the physical violence done to his daughter, and added that on hearing about his complaint, the headmistress on Saturday beat up his second daughter, who is in her second year.

The source said the father sent a cable to the Department of Girls’ Education in Jeddah seeking justice for the girls, accusing the attackers and the principal — who abused the second daughter — of committing racial violence.

The source said the NSHR would follow up on the case with the school and the Department of Education Affairs and would also approach the other departments concerned.

He recalled that the Kingdom's rules and regulations forbid racial violence.
