- SEOUL: Police say four South Koreans have been found dead in an apparent group suicide.
- Police say the bodies of two men and two women in their 20s were found Thursday in a parked van in Seongju, about 300 km southeast of Seoul.
Police believe the four killed themselves by burning coal briquettes and inhaling fumes because burned briquettes were found in the car and the windows were sealed with tape. Police say a suicide note was found.
South Korea has one of the world's highest suicide rates and the highest in the developed world. Earlier this year, four students at a top South Korean science university killed themselves, allegedly due to distress over tough academic programs.
