PRC President Irfan Hashmi, in his address, said though Pakistan’s nuclear technology was keeping the balance of power in the subcontinent, the advantage did not reach its people. He urged the government to take a strong stand against the continued drone attacks across the country.

Chief Guest Syed Riaz Bukhari, president of Pakistan Peoples Community, referred to the efforts of the late Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, nuclear scientist Abdul Qadeer Khan and Nawaz Sharif for achieving the goal of nuclear deterrence and called upon the heads of all political parties to collectively solve the issues confronting the nation today. 

He urged the government to take measures to solve the issue of Pakistanis who are stranded in Bangladeshi camps for several years. He extended all help to PRC in its mission of securing basic right of citizenship for them.

PRC Convener Ehsanul Haque said Pakistan, which is strong enough to protect the nuclear arsenal, should create a nuclear research university under the leadership of Khan for developing electricity, medicine, agriculture, and other areas for the benefit of the people.

Community leaders Hamid Islam Khan, Gulab Khan, Tariq Mahmood, Iftikhar Choudhry, Mohammad Ashfaque Badaouni, Khalilur Rahman and Mohammad Luqman were among the other speakers at the meeting, which also urged the Pakistan government to use the UN and countries including the US for ensuring a plebiscite in Kashmir according to the will of its people.
