Colvin's go-ahead homer in the ninth was overturned by umpires after replays showed a fan wearing a Phillies T-shirt reached over the fence and interfered with the ball.

But the Cubs still won their second straight after losing eight in a row.

Strong wind and heavy rain stopped the game for 1 hour, 17 minutes in the bottom of the third. Neither starter returned when play resumed, and the teams used 12 relievers.

Philadelphia's Jimmy Rollins hit a three-run homer in the second.

At Miami, Jair Jurrjens threw seven solid innings and drove in a run as Atlanta handed Florida its eighth straight loss.

Alex Gonzalez also drove in a run with a double to help the Braves complete a three-game sweep at Sun Life Stadium for the first time since May 2-4, 1995. The Marlins' eight-game losing streak is their longest skid since also dropping eight in a row Aug. 15-22, 2007.

Mike Stanton homered off Jurrjens in the seventh.

At Pittsburgh, Chris Young hit a two-run homer in the eighth inning and four Arizona pitchers combined for a five-hit shutout as the Diamondbacks beat Pittsburgh to snap a three-game losing streak.

Young pulled a 2-0 pitch from Chris Resop (2-2) down the left-field line just inside the foul pole for his 12th homer of the season. Reliever Micah Owings (2-0) legged out a one-out infield single before Young's hit.

Arizona rookie starter Josh Collmenter pitched five-plus innings. Joe Patterson, Owings and David Hernandez finished up the Diamondbacks' sixth shutout of the season.

At Milwaukee, Jonathon Niese pitched effectively into the eighth as New York beat Milwaukee to take two of three games against the best home team in the majors.

Niese (5-5) retired the first 11 hitters and allowed only an RBI double to Prince Fielder in the fourth and singles in the seventh and eighth. Niese matched a career high with eight strikeouts.

Francisco Rodriguez got the final four outs for his 18th save.

At Houston, Lance Berkman broke a tie with an RBI single and pinch-hitter Daniel Descalso had a two-run double as St. Louis beat Houston with a five-run sixth inning.

Berkman, the former Astro who hit a solo homer to break up Bud Norris' no-hit bid in the seventh inning in the Cardinals' 4-1 loss Wednesday night, snapped a 1-1 tie with a single off the scoreboard in left after Jon Jay singled and Albert Pujols drew a walk off J.A. Happ (3-8).

Berkman added his 15th homer in the ninth. Ryan Theriot also homered for St. Louis.

Houston's Hunter Pence had two hits to extend his hitting streak to 20 games.

At San Francisco, Johnny Cueto pitched seven scoreless innings, and Jonny Gomes had three hits and an RBI to lead Cincinnati past San Francisco.

Cueto (3-2) allowed just four hits and struck out eight - including the side in order in the third inning - in a dominating performance that ended a four-start winless streak.

Nick Masset pitched a scoreless eighth, and Francisco Cordero finished the four-hitter for his 12th save in 14 chances as the Reds opened their seven-game West Coast swing.

At Denver, Troy Tulowitzki drove in four runs, including a leveling two-run single in Colorado's five-run seventh inning as Colorado rallied to beat Los Angeles.

Tulowitzki delivered against Mike MacDougal and pinch-hitter Jason Giambi drew a bases-loaded walk to break the 7-7 tie as the Rockies sent 11 batters to the plate in the seventh.

Behind Matt Kemp's power surge - he hit his NL-leading 18th homer, drove in three runs and came a single short of his first career cycle - the Dodgers built leads of 4-0 and 7-3.

At San Diego, Chase Headley hit a two-run homer, and Anthony Rizzo had a triple and scored a run in his big league debut as San Diego downed Washington.

Rizzo, one of three prospects obtained from Boston for All-Star Adrian Gonzalez in December, was called up earlier in the day from Tucson. He started at first base and batted seventh, hitting a triple off the fence in center in his second at-bat and scoring on Chris Denorfia's infield single. Rizzo went 1 for 2 with two walks.

Livan Hernandez (3-8) tied for the major league lead with his eighth loss. He is 0-6 in his last eight starts overall and 0-6 in his eight road starts. He's also 0-6 in eight career starts at Petco Park.

Nationals pinch-hitter Wilson Ramos homered with two outs in the ninth.
