- BISHA: Assistant Interior Minister for Security Affairs Prince Muhammad bin Naif conveyed the condolences of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah, Crown Prince Sultan, deputy premier and minister of defense and aviation, Second Deputy Premier and Interior Minister Prince Naif and Deputy Interior Minister Prince Ahmad to the bereaved family of Sgt.
- Barrak bin Ali Al-Harithy who was killed on Tuesday at Al-Wadeeah center in Najran province when trying to stop an intruder from crossing into Yemen.
“While we congratulate you we condole ourselves,” Prince Muhammad said, considering the officer’s martyrdom a matter of pride for his relatives and his death a loss to the nation, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Thursday.
The martyr was buried in his hometown Sharoura in the south of the Kingdom on Wednesday.
The other officer killed in the attack, Col. Abdul Jaleel Shari Al-Otaibi, was laid to rest in Riyadh. The gunman who killed the officers has been identified as Abdullah bin Abdul Rahman Al-Sayel, who was also involved in an attack on a police station in Qassim a month ago.
