- JEDDAH: Two Yemeni illegals in their 20s were arrested in Jeddah on suspicion of being involved in multiple car thefts in and around the Briman area.
“Police investigators tracked down and apprehend the two suspects following several reports of car thefts from local residents,” said Brig. Misfer Al-Juaid, Jeddah police spokesman.
“The suspects used a Mazda to get around and carry out their crimes. Upon their arrest police found inside the car trunk several stolen items including wheel rims, tires and car stereos.”
Al-Juaid said that during investigations the two men denied involvement in any of the thefts. However, police investigators were able to match the suspects’ fingerprints to those found at the scenes of the crimes.
When presented with the evidence, the suspects admitted to the thefts.
“Investigations revealed the two suspect’s involvement in different crimes in the past. They are currently in custody at Al-Samer police station, while investigations continue. After that their case will be transferred to the authorities concerned,” said Al-Juaid.
