- PARIS: South Korean bands have thrilled a packed house at one of France's best known concert halls with a show billed as the first to bring the hot K-Pop genre to Europe.
Boy and girl bands such as Super Juniors and Girls' Generation performed to screams from mostly young-female fans on Saturday night at the "SM Town Live Nation" event at Paris' Zenith 6,300-seat theater - the event's only European stop. Concertgoers demanded a second show after Friday's first, reserved for ticket-buyers in Asia and the United States, sold out in minutes.
K-Pop riffs off R and amp;B and rock styles with sharply dressed bands dancing around, often in sync. The singers performed original tunes and karaoke versions of film soundtrack songs.
