- JEDDAH: Zain Saudi said its board of directors agreed to open the telecom carrier’s books for due diligence after a request from its parent company Zain, the Saudi firm said in a bourse statement.
In March, Zain agreed to sell its quarter-stake in affiliate Zain Saudi to joint bidders Bahrain Telecommunications (Batelco) and Kingdom Holding, with the three parties signing terms in early April.
But due diligence had yet to start on the deal, bringing into quesiton whether it would go forward.
Zain Saudi said in Tuesday’s statement that due diligence would start immediately.
“Zain Saudi announces the agreement of its board of directors on Tuesday to open the company’s book’s for due diligence... in light of the offer presented by Batelco and Kingdom Holding,” the statement said.
