The agreement was inked between Health Minister Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, chairman of the Cooperative Health Insurance Council, and Godefroy de Bentzmann, co-chairman of the management board and chief executive officer of Devoteam based in the United Kingdom.

“The new online scheme would help the insurance companies and the health service providers to communicate with each other in an efficient, effective and quick manner,” Al- Rabeeah said.

Under the new electronic program, the services offered would include registration and verification of the accuracy and legitimacy of insurance cards issued to the policy holders, provide a comprehensive database of all operations of the health insurance sector executing on the system.

“Payment of claims and approval for medical treatment by the insurance companies could be received by the policy holder at the touch of a button,” the minister said.
