The Anti Sleep Pilot (ASP) is an in-car active safety device that  measures driver alertness to help prevent fatigue-related traffic accidents. Based on more than four years of advanced sleep science research and Danish engineering and design, the ASP comes either as a dashboard-mounted portable device or an iphone/ipad app. The ASP continually monitors the conditions that affect a driver’s fatigue level. This active safety system uses a patented algorithm to calculate driver fatigue in real time. Configurations are available up to 32GB. The Thrive offers a 10.1-inch diagonal high-resolution multi-touch LED backlit widescreen display. A virtual keyboard with Swype technology makes typing easy, while a full suite of sensors, including a gyroscope and accelerometer, enable fast and smooth 360-degree screen rotation and control. Designed for easy connectivity and continuity with other digital devices, the Thrive Tablet features a collection of familiar, full-size ports, including USB 2.0, HDMI and an SD Card slot, giving consumers the ability to easily sync and share their content with other devices. The Thrive Tablet is equipped with a pair of high-resolution cameras, including a 2MP front-facing webcam and a 5MP rear-facing camera. Stereo speakers tuned with sound enhancement technologies from Toshiba and SRS Labs provide clarity for entertainment and video chatting.  Dressed in an Easy Grip finish, the Thrive offers a removable back cover that can be personalized in five different colors. A removable battery pack enables further flexibility, as the battery can be swapped out as needed. Toshiba will offer a complete suite of accessories for the Thrive Tablet, including two docking stations and multiple cases.
 

Ricoh Company has introduced the “eWriter Solution,” which combines a business-class tablet and back-end services designed to improve business efficiencies. The input device for the eWriter solution is the  Ricoh eQuill, a tablet that functions as a digital clipboard and is integrated with eWriter Workflow Services. The total solution eliminates paper-borne processes from the workflow, such as forms setup, photocopying, scanning, archiving, paper disposal and more. The Ricoh eQuill connects to eWriter Workflow Services through WiFi or 3G. Users can pull up a form on the Ricoh eQuill, make handwritten notes, capture and append a photo using the on-device camera, key-in data with a virtual keyboard, sign with the stylus and press Submit. The eWriter solution has the ability to authenticate signatures by date, time and biometric stroke recognition and store these for rapid legal or regulatory recall using Ricoh EWS patented AuthentiDoc services. All eWriter data is encrypted using patented “lockdown-secure” Ricoh EWS processes. The information is thereafter made accessible to authorized users on a rights-managed basis. The cost?
