The reports Wednesday said lawmakers set the vote for June 23 after closed-door questioning of Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah. Opposition lawmakers accuse the prime minister, a member of the ruling family, of weakness against Iran and of not giving full cooperation to Gulf Arab allies.

Kuwait claims that Iran operated a spy ring in Kuwait, but both countries have moved to ease tensions. Kuwait has not contributed ground troops to the Saudi-led force aiding Bahrain's monarchy battling protesters demanding reforms. The Kuwaiti prime minister survived a no-confidence motion in January.
