Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal commended King Abdullah's efforts to strengthen the Kingdom's development in various sectors. He described the king's rule as "the most prosperous era."

The governorate had discussed with citizens and officials about the development projects required by the province during the next four years.

He thanked Prince Naif for introducing a new department for follow-up at the governorate, adding that it helped in reducing the number of unimplemented laws and decisions from 17,000 to 4,000.

Speaking about the report on interrupted projects, Prince Khaled said it was prepared with the support of 1,400 individuals. "We have got information about 3,600 projects. About 13 percent of them are delayed and they are valued at SR40 billion."

He said works on 319 projects have been stopped completely and they are valued at SR600 million. He said the main reason for non-implementation of projects was the inefficiency of contractors.

Prince Naif watched a documentary on the implementation of various projects in the province during the past four years and the reasons for the delay of projects.
