The Cabinet said the Saudi Development and Technological Investment Company (Taqnia) would study the results of applied research programs at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology as well as Saudi universities and research centers.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah, who chaired the Cabinet meeting, prayed for the success of medical tests on Crown Prince Sultan, deputy premier and minister of defense and aviation, at a US hospital.

“We pray to the Almighty to protect his royal highness and help him return to the Kingdom in good health,” the king said.

Prince Sultan left Riyadh on Saturday for a medical checkup in the United States. He arrived in New York where he was greeted by Riyadh Gov. Prince Salman, Prince Khaled bin Sultan, assistant minister of defense and aviation, and other princes.

King Abdullah briefed the ministers on the outcome of his talks with Palestine President Mahmoud Abbas and his telephone conversation with US President Barack Obama and British Prime Minister David Cameron.

Culture and Information Minister Abdul Aziz Khoja said the Cabinet commended the king’s decree allocating SR476 million annually to the Solidarity Charitable Foundation to support poor students.

He said the meeting authorized Prince Naif, second deputy premier and minister of interior, to hold talks with his Azerbaijani counterpart to sign an agreement on the transfer of wanted criminals and prisoners.

The Cabinet authorized Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal to hold talks with officials in Cameroon to sign a general cooperation agreement.

The Cabinet appointed Adel bin Siraj Mirdad as ambassador and Salim bin Khaled Al-Nuwaiser minister plenipotentiary at the Foreign Ministry.
