Indian Ambassador Talmiz Ahmad was the chief guest. The function was attended by Dr. M.S. Karimuddin, member of the higher board.

Principal Syed Masood Ahmed welcomed the guests and highlighted the various curricular and extra-curricular activities, and achievements during the 2010-11 academic year.

He also spoke of the acquisition of new buildings for kindergarten and the increase in new admissions.

Vardha Mohammed Usman topped AISSCE (Class XII) scores by securing 96.4 percent, Adila A. Raheem was second with 96 percent and Mehjabeen third with 95.8 percent among the girls.

Hammad Yousuf was first among the boys with 95.4 percent, Fahad Ahmed second with 93.4 percent and Mir Mohiuddin third with 93.2 percent.

Vardha, when asked about her future plans, said she wanted to be a chartered accountant.

Ahmad told students and parents: “Demand for admissions is increasing day by day and Jeddah parents are fortunate to have a school providing quality education with a nominal fee structure within the reach of average parents.”

The ambassador recollected his association with the school in three different phases during his working life and expressed his satisfaction and joy in witnessing its growth from its humble beginnings to a successful institution.

The IISJ Alumni Association was launched on the annual day and the association’s office bearers were introduced by Open School headmaster C.P. Joy.

The association members took the audience on a nostalgic journey from 1966 until now.
