Police spokesman Lt. Troy Dangerfield says the shots fired Saturday night left two people hospitalized with serious injuries and three others treated for more minor injuries.

One man has been arrested and police are seeking a second suspect.

The shooting was a few blocks from the city’s Gay Pride events at the Civic Center, which had just ended for the day, but Police Chief Greg Suhr tells the San Francisco Chronicle those involved had no ties to the festivities.

Suhr says the shooting was related to street gangs but three of the injured — including the most critical — were not the intended targets.
