- JEDDAH: The Jeddah General Court has endorsed the statement of an accused in the murder of his fellow shepherd in Samir district of Jeddah.
The murder suspect, who was arrested by police last Tuesday, told the investigators that he killed his friend with whom he was herding sheep and camels, following a dispute over a matchstick, Al-Madinah daily reported on Monday. While he wanted to light a cigarette with the only remaining matchstick, his friend wanted to light the stove and cook food with it. The angry words developed to a fight and one of them took a knife and stabbed his friend’s abdomen, killing him instantly, a police source said. The suspect surrendered to police after committing the crime.
