- LONDON: HSBC’s chief executive said he believed the euro would get through the sovereign debt problems currently affecting the eurozone.
“We actually do believe the euro will prevail,” HSBC CEO Stuart Gulliver told a conferenced organized by the British American Business group.
He said the dollar would hold onto its position as the world’s dominant reserve currency, while China’s currency would eventually become a third reserve currency alongside the dollar and the euro.
