A number of male and female Saudi university students are participating in the 10-day forum that will also discuss the issue of random residential quarters and the solutions adopted by Brazil to this international problem. In addition, The Kingdom’s experience in mass management will be presented.

Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for economic and cultural affairs Dr. Yousuf bin Turad Al-Saadoun chaired the Kingdom’s delegation to the forum.

During the first day of the forum, Saudi and Brazilian university students visited São Paulo University, where they listened to a lecture about the problem of random districts delivered by Prof. Alex Abiko, a renown Brazilian civil engineer. They also attended a dinner party hosted in their honor by the Arab-Brazilian Commerce Chamber at the Lebanese-Syrian Club.

Speaking during the function, chairman of the chamber Saleem Shaheen described the visit of the Saudi youth to Brazil as not only a cultural or civilizational matter, but a visit that contained a number of solutions in one vision. “The cultural rapprochement necessarily means economic and social closeness,” he said.

Al-Saadoun expressed appreciation to the warm welcome to the Saudi youth by their Brazilian counterparts and said the Saudi youth would roam the world to deliver the message of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah for interfaith dialogue among civilizations. “We are friends by communications and getting together. We are propagating love, not hate,” he said.

Al-Saadoun also visited a number of Islamic organizations and centers in Brazil and reviewed their role and the Kingdom’s efforts to support them.
