- JEDDAH: The Presidency of Meteorology and Environment (PME) reported Sunday it inspected and fined several workshop owners in Al-Khumrah and Jeddah’s southern industrial area for violating environmental regulations.
PME Regional Director Abdullah Al-Sulami said most of the committed violations involved shop owners not complying with proper guidelines for handling industrial waste-water.
“Several shop owners weren’t carrying environmental licenses to operate their shops. PME inspectors found and cited the violators with up to SR10,000 fines,” said Al-Sulami.
