Saud Al-Boshi said that such cases are not brought to court unless there is hard proof or the suspect had confessed to the allegations against him to the Public Prosecution and Investigations Commission.

The judge added that there had been no confession as yet from the suspect, who is currently in solitary confinement in Briman prison. He is banned from seeing any visitors, including family members or members of human rights organizations, who demanded to see him on Tuesday.

The suspect’s brother revealed new information regarding the case, claiming the non-Saudi security guard at a wedding hall where one of the victims was allegedly kidnapped told police that no such offense had taken place during the three years he had been working there.

Al-Watan visited the wedding hall to meet with the guard, but his employer told the newspaper that he had left on a final-exit visa weeks ago.

The suspect’s family denied reports on the Internet that they had abandoned him and reiterated that they would stand by his side. They said they had demanded to visit him in prison, but were denied access.

His brothers said that they would not abandon him and would stand by him in court.

They said they were sure that he was innocent of all charges brought against him, adding that he would not confess to crimes he did not commit.

A team from the Human Rights Commission was also prevented from seeing the suspect.

According to the brothers, the suspect went to the police station after they called him.

They dismissed evidence found in the room on top of the building where the teacher allegedly raped his victims, adding there was not enough room there to carry out such attacks.

In an earlier report, legal consultant Omar Al-Kholi demanded the immediate release of the alleged rapist. “I am almost certain that there is no hard evidence against the schoolteacher,” he said.

Al-Kholi called on the authorities to deal with such cases in total secrecy and to protect sensitive information from leaking to the media to avoid prejudicing trials.
