A large number of beekeepers and honey traders of Saudi Arabia and Gulf countries are expected to visit the festival organized with the support of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities.

The festival is organized by Baha Beekeepers Cooperative Society and Abdullah Bugshan, chair of bee studies at King Saud University, with the assistance of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities.

The honey exhibition, which will showcase various kinds of honey and tools of apiculture, will also be accompanied by lectures and workshops on beekeeping and related topics. There will also be plays, poetic evenings and folk-arts events on the sidelines of the exhibition, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Tuesday.

The third national forum of beekeepers will also be conducted during the festival, chairman of the festival organizing committee Ahmed Al-Khazim said.

The forum will discuss various issues faced by beekeepers and honey industry in the Kingdom and abroad. Free training programs in the therapeutic use of honey products will also be organized in the festival.

Another attraction of the festival will be an international seminar on honey organized by the Bugshan Chair and Yemeni University of Hadramout, he said.
