- JEDDAH: Border guards in Jazan have arrested a Saudi man for allegedly trying to smuggle six persons, dressed up as women in abayas and veils, into the Kingdom.
The incident took place on Wednesday when security officers stopped a car driven by a Saudi for checking. There were six persons inside the car.
“The Saudi driver came out and showed his family ID card in order to prove that the passengers inside the car are his wife and daughters,” a security source said.
With the six persons acting suspiciously, the police inquired further and the investigation showed that the man was trying to bring into the Kingdom the six individuals whose identities were not known. The six passengers and the driver have been transferred to police to take necessary action.
Also on Wednesday, border guard patrol police in Jazan prevented another attempt by a number of foreigners to smuggle 52 kg of hashish into the Kingdom. Those detained have been transferred to police along with the drugs seized from them to take action.
