- BERLIN: Germany will travel to Poland for a friendly on Tuesday without Mesut Oezil, Bastian Schweinsteiger and No.
- 1 goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.
Coach Joachim Loew said Saturday that players who face a lot of national and European club matches should be rested from the Germany team “when it is possible and makes sense.”
Real Madrid’s Oezil scored two goals and set up a third when Germany beat Austria 6-2 Friday to become the first team to qualify for the 2012 European Championship.
Bayern Munich’s Schweinsteiger and Neuer also are key players in the Germany lineup.
Loew said the national team “can use the situation to give younger players a chance and to test them.” Germany will travel to Gdansk on Monday with an 18-member squad.
