The victim’s brother reported the killing to Deera police. The murder took place at the victim’s house in Nasiriya where he was staying alone after his family left for Jeddah to spend the holidays.

As the man did not respond to repeated calls from his mother and brother, the brother went to his house, which he found locked and the key thrown out.

When the brother got into the house forcing the door open, the victim was found lying in a pool of blood with bullet wounds.

Security agents launched an investigation before making the arrest. The suspect admitted killing the man following a dispute, a security source said, adding that police are still investigating.
