The National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) raised its Iranian Light price to the Mediterranean by $2.30 to Brent crude BWAVE benchmark minus $2.10 a barrel for October.

Since August, spot prices for sour crude have shot up across Europe due to relatively tight supply of Russian Urals and the uncertainty of crude oil supply from Syria amid international sanctions.

The hike in Iranian OSPs tracked Saudi Arabia. Earlier in the month, state-run Saudi Aramco also raised its October OSPs, giving Europe a larger hike than Asia.

But NIOC cut prices of heavier Soroush and Norouz crude to the Mediterranean customers.

To Asia, NIOC raised the Iranian Light price by 88 cents from September to a premium of $1.89 a barrel to Oman/Dubai, traders said. It just 2 cents below Reuters expectations.

Iran will sell Arab Heavy at a discount of 31 cents to the Oman/Dubai average, while Forozan will be priced at a discount of 16 cents.
