Three policemen who silently witnessed two brothers lynching were given three years each.

The court announcing the verdict pronounced seven accused guilty of lynching two brothers Munib and Mughees last year in Sialkot.

In another development, Rawalpindi Bench of the Lahore High Court Tuesday stayed execution of attackers of General Headquarters of the army.

Armed terrorists on Oct. 9, 2009, had launched an attack on the headquarters and taken some army men hostage for 18 hours.

The attackers were ordered to appeal to the court before Sept. 19 or they would miss the hearing.

The bench ordered the convicts to appear in the court on Sept. 26.
