“Two men attacked the Pakistani driver at night while pretending they wanted him to take them to a nearby location in the city. Inside the vehicle, one of the perpetrators sat next to the driver while the other sat behind him,” said Jeddah police spokesman Brig. Misfer Al-Juaid.

Al-Juaid said when the two arrived at their destination, the man in the back seat started choking the driver, while the other one took his wallet and stole SR200 from it.

“After threatening the victim, the men released the driver and he was told not to contact the police or tell security forces of their whereabouts,” said Al-Juaid.

The victim was able to contact the police, and identify their location to the officers. Police arrived at one of the suspect’s house in the area and arrested both men. The pair are currently in police custody.
