- JEDDAH: Al-Shabab scored their third straight win from as many matches when they got the better of Al-Qadasiya by a solitary goal during the third week of the Saudi Professional Soccer League match played at the King Fahd International Stadium on Thursday night.
The all-important goal of the match was scored by Ibrahim Yattara in the 65th minute. Shabab is now on top of the league table with nine points with a better goal average.
At the Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Sport City Stadium, Al-Nasr and Alfaisaly shared two goals and points after a 1-1 draw. Mohammed Al Sahlawi gave Nasr the lead in the 19th minute, which was neutralized by Bader Al-Kharashi for AlFaisaly in the 69th minute.
It was a big setback for Nasr who lost their previous match to Al-Ahli. The loss will affect their chances for the title. They are fifth on the table having lost five points while Alfaisaly are fourth on the standings with four points.
In another match Al-Fateh and Al-Raed played out a goalless draw at the Al-Fath Club Stadium.
In Friday’s matches, Al-Ahli will be looking for third win when they play Najran at the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium in Jeddah in what is expected to be easy outing for the home team. Champions Al-Hilal will be hoping to rebound back after their earlier round loss to Al-Shabab when they take on Al-Taawon.
In another match Hajer will clash Al-Ansar.
