Deutsche Bank has appointed Waleed Fatani as general manager of its branch in Riyadh. Fatani joins Deutsche Bank from Banque Saudi Fransi (BSF), where he served for 17 years. Most recently, Fatani headed BSF’s group treasury and was a member of the bank’s senior management serving on various committees. As general manager of Deutsche Bank’s branch, Fatani has oversight over all SAMA (Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency) regulated activities. Ashok Aram, Deutsche Bank’s CEO for the Middle East and North Africa region, said: “We are extremely pleased to have Waleed on board in Saudi Arabia. His immense experience and insight into the Saudi market will be a great asset for Deutsche Bank and for our enterprise in the Kingdom.” Throughout his career, Fatani had assumed several leading roles that have helped support the growth of the Saudi financial markets. Deutsche Bank opened its Riyadh branch in 2006.
Deloitte Corporate Finance (DCF), the financial advisory arm of Deloitte Middle East that was set up as a joint venture with Deloitte in the UK, has announced the appointment of six new managing directors including its current CEO, Humphry Hatton. This month, DCF also celebrates three years of operations across the GCC. “Our practise has expanded significantly, as evidenced by the growth of our workforce to over 180 in a span of three years. We have also established a range of new service lines and industries across the Middle East,” said Humphry Hatton. “As an addition to our core offerings in corporate finance advisory, forensic and dispute services, transaction services, valuations, and capital projects advisory, DCF has recently strengthened its depth of specialized offering to include real estate advisory capabilities, led by Robin Williamson, former head of DTZ Middle East, as well as a dedicated restructuring advisory team (led by David Stark, formerly a Deloitte partner in the UK),” Hatton said.
Royal Jet, the Abu Dhabi-based international luxury flight services company chaired by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan has announced several new strategic initiatives and a key appointment as part of its ongoing five-year strategic plan. Sheikh Hamdan has appointed UAE National Fahad Mohammed Wali Karmostaji, vice president-commercial, and tasked him with further enhancing service excellence delivery and global reach. Formerly director of sales at Royal Jet, Karmostaji’s first move has been to streamline and reinforce the commercial department through a number of other new management appointments. “It’s an honor and a privilege to take up my new role in which I hope to fulfill the ambitious commercial plans of Royal Jet,” said Karmostaji. “Fahad’s appointment will help us achieve our ambitious mid-to-long term business and sales targets set as part of our five-year strategic plan,” said Shane O’Hare, president and CEO of Royal Jet.
Prime International Investments Group Ltd., an international Shariah-compliant real estate investment group, has announced the appointment of Muin El Saleh as chief executive officer of the company. In his most recent role before joining Prime, El Saleh worked as the general manager of Abdul Latif Jameel (ALJ) Real Estate Investment Company based in Jeddah. While at ALJ, he successfully transformed the company into a major real estate player owning a vast portfolio of land in Makkah, in close proximity to the Holy Haram. El Saleh has vast experience in various regions and industries including Asia and Europe. He completed his higher education studies in the UK. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering from Liverpool University and a Masters in business administration (international marketing) from Leicester University.
