- CAIRO: Lebanese singer Elissa arrived in Cairo recently despite a Facebook campaign against her by a number of young Egyptian asking the government to prevent her from entering the country.
Elissa’s expression of nuisance when she witnessed a paralyzed country during protests was interpreted as a negative comment on the Egyptian revolution. The singer arrived in Cairo to prepare for her upcoming album despite her initial decision to wait until the political situation in Egypt and other Arab nations would become stable.
To calm down the situation, at her arrival Elissa explained how Cairo represents one of her favorite cities and Egypt one of her favorite countries.
