Andrea Indiano, the spokesman for Saturday’s red carpet event in Pristina’s National Theatre, said the seven-day PriFilmFest aims to break tradition with the country’s violent past and show that “Kosovo is not just about war.”

Twenty feature and mid-length films from Denmark, Albania, Poland, France, Macedonia, Romania and Bosnia will compete for the Golden Goddess figurine in six categories.

Special screenings include French director Francois Ozon’s “Potiche,” and Iranian director Asghar Farhadi’s “Nader and Simin, a Separation,” the winner of the Golden Bear for Best Film in Berlin.

Guests include German actor Gedeon Burkhard and American director Joshua Marston who will screen his “Forgiveness of Blood” movie.
