- CAIRO: The Egyptian serial “Second Wife” which inspired the homonymous 1967 movie, was put on hold during Egyptian revolt and shelved due to financial reasons.
The serial, describing farmers’ life in a village, was supposed to focus on the story of a rich man without a male inheritor from his wife who forces his maid to divorce her husband and marry him.
Soon pregnant, the maid who kept contacts with her old husband then fights for her child’s rights after the rich man’s death.
