Gen. Javaid said that Musharraf had made it very clear to Washington that Indian Army will have no role in Afghanistan. But unfortunately Karzai administration and White House did not disallow RAW to operate in Afghanistan.

Gen. Javaid said, “During our time we had made repeated protests to the US but at that time President Hamid Karzai was on Indian side.”

He said at present Karzai is not on Indian side but his intelligence agency RAMA has strong connections with RAW. He was of the view that the ”present shape of Pak-US relations is a result of joint conspiracies BEING hatched by RAW and RAMA.

Commenting on the status of the militant Haqqani group Gen. Javaid said, “As you know many countries including the United States itself has ties with the Haqqani network.

He further said that Pakistan Army will not take military action in North Waziristan as being demanded by the US due to lack of resources. It will also need the support of some powerful tribe of the NW FATA agency for attacking Haqqani network.

On US options, Gen. Javaid further said, ”Americans have few options left to intimidate Pakistan. One of the options is to go for frequent drone strikes in a ‘blitzkrieg’ manner to cause shock in Pakistan. Their targets will be Miranshah and Mir Ali.”

He said, “In my view they will not use these options due to their heavy dependence of Pakistan for the logistics supply.

Referring to “boots on ground option,” Gen. Javaid said, ”In my opinion they will not follow it due to their own shortcomings an the risk involved.”
