Over the course of the five-day trip, between Oct. 1 and 5, the companies will travel around, meeting Saudi contacts in Riyadh, Jeddah and Alkhobar.

They will also attend evening receptions in the three cities.

The transport sector in Saudi Arabia is estimated to be growing by six to 10 percent annually, driven by the construction of new roads, railways and integrated community development projects across the Kingdom.

The UK Trade and Investment will help these companies to make the right contacts to enable them explore the opportunities and fast growing needs of the Saudi mass transport market, so that British firms can satisfy those needs with their products or expertise.

There are 30 companies from around the UK taking part in the trade mission.

They include Balfour Beatty Rail, a rail specialist that delivers innovative and custom-built solutions in more than 30 countries and Carillion, one of the UK’s leading support services, public private partnership project and construction companies, which has already constructed some landmark projects in the Middle East such as the Yas Marina Hotel in Abu Dhabi and the Grand Mosque in Oman.

Atkins, a global consultancy with over 18,000 staff worldwide, which has in-depth knowledge of airport and airline operations, and Portia Management Services Ltd. that provides professional services to port operators, port developers and port regulators are also part of the mission.
