Dr. Mazen Soliman Fakeeh, director general of DSFH, opened the festivities and commended Indian culture and heritage.

“I have visited India several times. I have been to New Delhi, Agra, Mumbai and Thiruvananthapuram. Every time I visited India I learned something new about its great culture and traditions,” Fakeeh said and emphasized the importance of cultural exchange.

The program, which included songs, dances and drama presented by staff members as well as Indian children, was attended by a large number of doctors and nurses belonging to different nationalities who expressed their appreciation of Indian culture.

“This is the first time in my life I had a chance to understand the Indian arts, culture and heritage and taste Indian food. It was a wonderful night and I really appreciate the efforts of the team who worked behind the scenes,” said Dr. Vitek, head of the Cardiology Department.

“These programs are very important in bringing people together, in removing boundaries between the different nationalities who are working in Saudi Arabia with one goal: help this country grow and be a better place,” said Dr. Samar Badruddin, infection control director.

“These events are a good reminder that human beings, in spite of differences in color, looks, language, they all share the same human weaknesses and strength and they are very similar from within,” she said, adding that she had enjoyed the Indian music and dance.

Sholly Kavungal, chairperson of the Indians Staff Committee, welcomed the guests while convener Muneer Vengara, explained the vision and objectives behind the program.

Nayomi Butty gave a vote of thanks. A number of fabulous prizes were also distributed among the participants.
