- CAIRO: Comic film actor Muhammad Saad is to play former Libyan leader Muammar Qaddafi in an upcoming serial that will air next Ramadan.
- It will be the first time in 13 years he is returning to the small screen.
The actor is holding meetings with the show’s scriptwriters to work out the plot, after which filming will immediately start.
Qaddafi has been the butt of satirical jokes because of his stance and remarks on the Libyan revolution.
Saad recently announced that he would call time on his trademark character “Al-Lembi.” He said that he wanted to try a new, more natural character.
