AMD recently announced the appointment of Ossama Eldeeb as the new commercial organization team leader for Middle East, Turkey and Africa (META). Based in Dubai, Eldeeb and his team located in the various countries in the META region will be responsible for engaging with AMD’s commercial customers and working with leading MNCs and software vendors to increase AMD’s success in the commercial market of the region. “Eldeeb has more than 14 years of experience in the IT industry, and he’s been instrumental in growing our business and setting up our channel and distribution activities in Egypt since 2007,” said Bernard Biolchini, VP sales and GM, AMD META. Prior to joining AMD, Eldeeb spent 10 years working across various roles in Microsoft for the META region including the launch of industry leading products in Egypt as well as working with local OEMs and developing national PC initiatives across different countries like Egypt, Oman, Turkey and Pakistan.

Barclays Wealth, a major global wealth manager, announced the appointment of Rory Gilbert as MD, head of Middle East and North Africa for international private banking. Gilbert has assumed the responsibilities of Soha Nashaat who has moved to a senior client relationship and strategic advisory role for Barclays Wealth in the MENA region. Emmanuel Fievet, head of Barclays Wealth International Private Banking, EMEA, said: “This is a significant appointment for Barclays Wealth, in particular because of our commitment to private banking across the MENA region. Mike Orlov has taken responsibility as CEO of Primedia International. Orlov has worked in the communications and marketing industries for over 30 years, most recently for 4 years in Dubai. He brings with him international and regional expertise with technical know-how and experience of publishing newspapers in the UK, B2B publications, travel information channels and directories as well as consumer magazines, with more recent focus on digital and web publishing in the Gulf.
