The UN command says the repatriation will take place Friday at the Korean border village of Panmunjom.

It said Tuesday that the corpses were found separately last month. The UN command has determined that they are North Korean soldiers based on their clothing and personal articles.

The bodies of North Koreans occasionally wash down the river into South Korea following North Korean flooding.

The UN command overseas an armistice that ended the 1950-53 Korean War.

About 28,500 US troops are stationed in South Korea.
