The venue was decorated with Saudi and Indian flags and banners highlighting the historic Saudi-Indian relations. The burning of incense and distribution of dates and gahwa made the event unique as Indians marked the day following Saudi traditions.

"It also gave students an opportunity to learn the history, culture and traditions of the Kingdom," said one parent, who commended IISJ authorities for organizing the event in an excellent manner.

Students wearing traditional Saudi dress, Thobe, ghutra and igal, presented various programs including a sword dance and patriotic songs. Guests were welcoming serving dates and Arabic coffee.

The program commenced with the recitation of a few verses from the Holy Qur'an and Hadith with their translations. The boys of Classes I and II recited a patriotic poem titled Bilady, which was followed by the screening of a documentary depicting the close relationship between Saudi Arabia and India.

"The program on the whole highlighted the rich culture and values of Saudi Arabia and revealed the strong bond of love between Saudi Arabia and India," said Principal Sayed Masood Ahmed.
