- JEDDAH: Makkah Gov.
- Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, who is also chairman of the Central Haj Committee, will launch this season’s national media campaign to enlighten domestic pilgrims on Haj regulations on Oct.
The logo of the campaign, which was first launched in the Haj season three years ago, is “Haj is a worship and civilized conduct.”
A major goal of the campaign is to end undesirable practices such as going for Haj without permit and sleeping on pavements.
“The campaigns over the past three years have brought about notable achievements and enabled government and private sectors in providing excellent services to pilgrims,” Prince Khaled said in a statement on Friday.
“The Haj service is a great honor and privilege to the Kingdom, its government and its people. We are also proud at the title of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques adopted by King Abdullah, whom we all follow in carrying on the privilege of serving Haj and Umrah pilgrims,” the prince added.
The prince said the campaign, in its fourth year, would persuade the pilgrims to consider the comfort of other worshippers.
The second phase of the campaign is aimed at creating awareness in the domestic pilgrims that a Haj without a permit and violation of government regulations governing Haj amounted to transgressing the rights of other pilgrims and it defeated the very purpose of Haj, he said.
The government departments and other agencies that participate in the campaign include the Ministry of Haj, the Ministry of Culture and Information, the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Endowment, Call and Guidance, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Directorate of General Security, Civil Defense, the Presidency of the Grand Mosque Affairs, Makkah Municipality, the Makkah Provincial Council, the Saudi Arabian Airlines, and telecommunication companies and some other private companies.
