- LONDON: Downing Street officials say Prime Minister David Cameron is backing Defense Secretary Liam Fox, who faces an inquiry into a possible security breach.
A spokeswoman who asked not to be identified because of government policy says Cameron has full confidence in Fox.
Fox faces questions about his friendship with Adam Werritty, who has repeatedly visited Fox at defense headquarters despite having no official position there, and has traveled overseas with Fox.
Werritty has been criticized for handing out business cards linking him to Fox. Werritty was best man at Fox’s wedding.
Fox has ordered a Ministry of Defense inquiry into whether his links to Werritty pose a security problem or violate codes of conduct.
Fox is in Libya Saturday.
