- To commemorate the visit of their celebrity chef, Movenpick Hotel Alkhobar is hosting a 10-day royal celebration at Maharaja — their widely acclaimed Indian restaurant — from Dec.
- 14-23.
Maharaja’s supervising chef and “founding father” Vineet Bhatia is a Michelin star-winning chef who has created some of the world’s finest Indian restaurants in the UK, Europe, Asia and beyond.
Guests will journey back to the days of the maharajas, savoring legendary dishes that were passed down from one generation of royal cooks to the next.
These dishes will include gosht pasanda, chargrilled lamb escalopes in ginger and robust spices; sultani biryani, a Mysore style of prawns with cashew nuts, saffron and lemon masala; Asafjahi korma, a Hyderabad Nizami preparation of lamb with almonds, raisins, peppercorns and saffron; and Shah Jahani korma, another lamb preparation with figs, poppy seeds, pistachios and grated coconut.
Chef Vineet himself will be on hand to greet guests and regale them with tales of a glorious time and place.
