Rescue agency chief Sutrisno says a tugboat picked up 13 foreigners on Sunday in waters about 100 miles (160 kilometers) from the site of the sinking.

He said Monday that fishermen separately found two Indonesians on a small island about 65 miles (100 kilometers) away. It was unclear whether they were crewmen of the sunken ship.

The ship carrying asylum seekers from Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran and Turkey sank off Java on Saturday.

Survivors said they were trying to reach Australia when a 15-foot (three-meter) wave slammed into their ship.
