She was accompanied on the tour by Juliana Azuma Mensah, Ghanaian minister for women and children’s affairs.

The princess also visited the Noghuchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research and was given a tour by Mensah. Alwaleed Foundation had donated $600,000 to the institute toward a clinical research facility for AIDS, malaria, and malnutrition.

The Alwaleed Foundation encourages and supports organizations, studies and academic centers focusing on education, health and alleviating poverty globally. Other areas supported by the Foundation are various awareness and education project tie-ups with women’s centers, the handicraft sector and training and employment programs.
