The officer from the search and investigations division of the Makkah region was on his regular patrol when he discovered a warehouse on Al-Mansour road behind the Red Crescent building with a sign indicating that it was a store for electric equipment.

On closer inspection he discovered it was in fact a store for expired food and cleaning materials.

The police said when the African realized the policeman had discovered what the warehouse was really storing he took things into his own hands literally and he assaulted him and ran away.

The policeman called security patrols who rushed to the scene and on searching the warehouse found 600 cartons filled with expired food.

The police said all the food was destroyed and the case forwarded to Al-Fariyyah police station. They said the search was continuing for the attacker.
