“The archaeological heritage and picturesque nature scenes combined with a moderate climate offer a fertile ground for investments in historical and cultural tourism, health and sports facilities,” acting Consul General Ayubkhon L. Yunusov said in a forum organized in Jeddah to highlight the cultural and tourist features in his country and the exchange of expertise in related areas between Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan on Wednesday.

Yunusov said an international conference was organized by the country’s Ministry of Health in Tashkent on Nov. 25-26 in collaboration with the World Health Organization and a number of UN subsidiaries.

“It is a great honor to our country to organize a conference to devise a national model to preserve the health of mothers and children in Uzbekistan with the participation of scientists and experts in the medical field from the world over,” President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov said when addressing the conference.

More than 300 scientists and doctors from 40 countries participated in the conference, the consul general said.
