“Bokra’s” music video has been viewed by over 3 million people on YouTube. Virgin Megastores has recorded incredible sales of the album, the proceeds of which will go to fund programs in music, arts and culture for children of the Arab world.

The No. 1 song features 26 Arab and international superstar artists who lent their voices in hope for a better tomorrow. The Arabic lyrics were written by the iconic Majida El Roumi, and the Arabic music adaptation is by Kadim Al Sahir.

Legendary producer Quincy Jones and Grammy award-winning producer RedOne, (a.k.a Nadir Khayat) who has worked with international superstars such as Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Akon and Enrique Iglesias, are producers of the track, while Malek Akkad (son of Moustafa Al Akkad the Director of “The Message”), directed the music video and documentary film. Shakira also recorded a special introduction to the music video.

“The response so far has been phenomenal” said executive producer Badr Jafar, “Over 3.2 million people have viewed the online version, TV and radio stations across the Region are playing the track constantly, and people are buying the track in music stores knowing that all the proceeds are going to a very worthy cause for children across the region.”

All funds raised as part of the single’s global distribution will be collected by the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture in support of the United Nations World Food Program and the Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation, among others, to finance educational programs in music, arts and culture for children from across the Arab world.

The Bokra Album, released by Sony Music, features the title charity single and for the first time brings together Arab and international artists in one album including Michael Jackson, Usher, Shakira, Kadim Al0Sahir, Marwan Khoury and Tamer Hosny among others.

It is available at Virgin Megastores and authorized music stores across the region. The single is available as a caller ringtone across telecom companies around the Middle East and can also be downloaded from iTunes around the world.
