- BUDAPEST: Hungarian police have removed former Socialist Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsany from an opposition protest outside parliament building in Budapest on Friday, a Reuters photographer said.
Hungary plans to pass laws on Friday to revamp the electoral system and an economic law strongly objected by the EU, which prompted a group of MPs from the green liberal opposition LMP party chain themselves to the barrier outside parliament in protest against the laws which they say are a blow to democracy.
Later police forcefully removed three LMP party lawmakers from the scene, and also removed Gyurcsany who joined the protest.
